"When you love doing something, you're bound to be good at it."
I couldn't have picked a better job for myself. Since I was a kid, I've loved hair, makeup, and fashion. My mom used to let me do her hair and makeup, and I played dress-up in her clothes. I cut all of my Barbie dolls' hair, and one day when I was about ten, I cut all four of my neighbor girls' hair. Their mother wasn't even mad because she said, "It actually looks pretty good." As I grew up, my friends would come to my house when we were going out so that I could help them get ready.
I decided to start an 18-month Cosmetology program in 2000. From the moment I walked in the door, I knew I was meant to be there. I was licensed in 2002. Subsequently, I have advanced my training with hands-on classes for cutting and coloring by Redken, Paul Mitchell, and TIGI. I was certified by KETT for airbrushing and have been evolving as a makeup artist for the past few years. Some of my most recent accomplishments have included having my makeup work published in multiple Issues of San Joaquin magazine and my hair work published in Her Life magazine.
I love, LOVE, LOVE what I do! You could even say I'm a bit obsessed with it. In my downtime, I enjoy watching hair and makeup videos or perusing Pinterest looking at all the hair, makeup, and fashion posted there for inspiration. I've been in this business for 15 years now, and I'm still excited to go to work every day!
